Obvious Effects of Low Blood Pressure

Probably two most common effects of low blood pressure are dizziness and lightheadedness when you stand up or make sudden moves. Of course, they are both quite frequency symptoms for a wide variety of conditions, but most of the time they are indeed related to hypotension.  Besides these, there are many other things that indicate low blood pressure and you should consider down if you have the doubt that your are among one of the millions of people experiencing hypotension.

In connection to dizziness and lightheadedness as effects of low blood pressure people describe the sensation as being on a rocky boat ride and having sea sick.  In more serious forms of hypotension it is possible for a person to feel like they are about to faint or even completely pass out, especially when they make sudden moves or stand up after a period of inactivity.

Other effects of low blood pressure are more subtle and include changes in the mental state, mood swings and depressive behavior, difficulty concentrating and confusion.  Some even feel a sense of impending doom or serious anxiety, so it is not uncommon to have rather high heart rate and suffer from hypotension.

Changes in the breathing pattern are other common effects of low blood pressure. Fast shallow breathing may occur during episodes when the blood pressure level is at its lowest.  When they reach this stage many people you nauseous, their skin turns to pale white and their hands get cold.

Of course, you shouldn’t overreact if you notice some of the effects of low blood pressure mentioned above, but if the symptoms persist for a long period of time you should see a doctor for a proper diagnosis and adequate treatment. After all, it is always better to prevent any medical condition than to treat it once it reaches a debilitating form.
